I could never find love from the sea. The warmth of the sun and the salt of the sand never found home in my body. I was never kissed by the golden rays everyone seems so fond of. My love was found in the forests, on the high mountain tops. In the dense and wet cold of the fog in the early mornings. When the trees could only whisper your name, and the mountains cast shadows of your past, I turned my heart towards the ocean and began to see on my own again. Our first trip was to a beach, it was there that you corner-stoned my love for you.

Maybe the waves were meant for more than the likes of you and me. In the salt of the sea, and the gravity of the tides, I'll be waiting.

I still love you. I went for a walk today and every step echoed your name. I stood atop this bridge looking down into the ocean thinking how beautiful it would be to fall. Fall deeply into the blue, let the waves fold into my body, let them rock me into the heaviness of the sea. I keep my eyes locked on the water below and see your eyes. The same eyes that cry every time we say goodbye, the ones that keep me from moving on. I still love you. I think of our last conversation, it pushes me to walk into the cold. I long for the chance to feel the ocean, I long for a chance to see your eyes. I still love you. When the sun set, I stood staring deeply into its center, I want to see blue, I want to see black, I want to see you.

We're petrified of saying too much, or saying it wrong. When the truth is, the only wrong thing you can say, is nothing at all.
